Getting started
Who is Nayadaksha for?
Advocates, chambers and law firms in India, from a single advocate to firms with many partners. Each person gets a role (owner, admin, partner, associate, clerk or accountant) and your clients can use the client portal.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Dashboard, Cause list, Calendar, Matters and Clients are free forever, for up to three team members, with no limit on matters or clients and no card needed. That covers the daily board, eCourts sync by CNR, the shared calendar and the full case file.
How do I try the rest?
Sign up and every feature is switched on free for your first 180 days: documents and scanning, tasks, client portal and messaging, billing, reports and the AI Agent. The trial allows three team members, 50 active matters and 1 GB of documents.
Which devices does it work on?
Any modern web browser, plus Android and iOS apps for your team. Clients use the client portal from their phone or computer.
How long does setting up take?
You can start adding clients and matters as soon as you sign up. Connecting WhatsApp, SMS, email, Google Drive and AI is optional and done in Settings when you are ready. The Help centre has a step-by-step checklist.
Data and security
Can other firms see our data?
No. Each firm’s data is kept separate, and every request is checked against the firm and the user’s role.
Who in my firm can see what?
Access follows roles: for example, accountants see billing but cannot change matters, and clients see only their own cases. An owner can also turn on a rule so that associates and clerks see only the matters they are assigned to.
How are passwords and keys stored?
Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. API keys, SMTP passwords and the WhatsApp session are stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM). Every change in the firm is recorded in the audit log.
Where are our documents kept?
In Nayadaksha’s storage, or in your firm’s own Google Drive, arranged by Matter / Year / Month / Date. You choose in Settings › Storage.
Courts and documents
How does the eCourts sync work?
For matters with a CNR number, Nayadaksha checks the case status every morning at 5:30 and tells the matter team about any change, when court sync is enabled for your account. You can always record hearings and next dates yourself.
Does it know the new criminal laws?
Yes. The section finder maps IPC to BNS, CrPC to BNSS and the Evidence Act to the BSA, 2023.
How do clients send us paper documents?
Send a Scan & upload link from the matter. The client opens it on their phone, scans the pages, and they arrive as one PDF filed under that matter. Advocates can use the same link at court.
Messaging
Which channels does Nayadaksha use?
Messages to clients go to the client portal, WhatsApp, SMS and email together; alerts to your team go to the in-app bell, WhatsApp, SMS and email. Each firm can switch channels off in Settings › Messaging.
Whose WhatsApp number is used?
Your firm’s own. You can link your number by scanning a QR code (like WhatsApp Web) or use an official WhatsApp Business API provider. Linking a number is free, but it is not an official API and WhatsApp may restrict numbers that send automated messages, so the settings page shows a disclaimer.
How does SMS work in India?
Through Fast2SMS: Quick SMS works straight away, and DLT SMS uses your registered sender ID and templates as TRAI requires. Nayadaksha shows the exact template text to register.
Which email address sends our messages?
Your firm’s own mailbox, set up in Settings › Messaging with presets for Gmail / Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Zoho.
AI
Is the AI switched on by default?
No. An owner or admin turns each AI feature on in Settings › Preferences and enters the firm’s key for Anthropic, OpenAI or Google Gemini.
Can the AI Agent change things on its own?
No. It looks things up and prepares changes, such as a task or a message to a client, and nothing happens until you click Confirm. It works with your own permissions.
What is sent to the AI provider?
Only what a feature needs: the records the Agent looks up to answer you, a matter’s details and documents for the Legal AI Assistant, or an uploaded document’s contents for summaries. Each setting says so next to its checkbox.
Plans and billing
What happens when the trial ends?
Nothing is lost. If you do not choose a plan, the firm moves to the free plan three days after the trial ends: Dashboard, Cause list, Calendar, Matters and Clients keep working as before. Documents, tasks, messages, invoices and the other paid modules stay visible but read-only until you choose a plan in Settings › Plan & billing.
How do we pay?
Online through Cashfree Payments: UPI, debit and credit cards, net banking and wallets, monthly or yearly. Nayadaksha never sees your card or bank details, and a receipt is available in Settings › Plan & billing. Renewing early adds the new period after the current one, so nothing is lost.
Are all features in every plan?
Yes. Plans differ only in team members, active matters and storage. See Pricing.
Are SMS, WhatsApp and AI included in the price?
Those services bill your firm directly through your own accounts: Fast2SMS, your WhatsApp Business API provider if you use one, and your AI provider.
